The Australasian Fleet Management Association organises a Professional Development Forum program for New South Wales throughout 2019. These are an ideal way of staying in touch and with fellow fleet managers, connecting with potential clients, entertaining and reaffirming existing clients or taking the first step in discovering what it is like to be an AfMA Member.

Topic 1 – Its FBT time again and we have experts from KPMG sharing their knowledge with you.
Presenter – Ben Watkinson | Senior Manager | KPMG
Fringe benefits tax is often complex and time consuming. But it’s necessary in order to ensure you comply with your obligations, it’s crucial to take steps in collating the required information/documentation. The KPMG team will provide delegates with an update on legislative changes, tips and reminders, key areas of interest, technology and how it can simplify your FBT reporting whilst also exploring what other rebates may be available.
Ben has over 11 years of tax consulting and compliance experience advising both employees and employers of all the tax issues that arise across the employer / employee relationship. Also Ben’s focus is to advise clients on the full range of tax and financial issues that arise from the employer – employee relationship. These include:
- Mobility and taxation policies to support the management and deployment of a mobile workforce
- Implementation of budgeting tools and cost management strategies for international assignments
- Management and resolution of employment-related tax reviews by federal and state authorities
- Implementing of effective salary packaging arrangements to maximize employee’s tax home income and minimize the cost of assignments for the employer
Topic 2 – Why EV charging will be easier than fueling an ICE
Presenter – Tim Washington | Director | JET Charge
Part of the dilemma with electric vehicles is determining how and where to actually charge them. Tim Washington, founder of JET Charge is here to share details of the JET Charge EV Network – the most sophisticated network Australia has seen alongside a variety of EV solutions. Plus hear what the future of electric vehicle infrastructure looks like within Australia and how you and your organisation can make steps to increase your environmental commitment both now and into the future.
With a background in law and management, Tim’s aim is to manage and create businesses that help to drive economic decisions that create positive social or environmental outcomes. In his role with JET Charge Tim seeks to actively support the rollout of electric car charging infrastructure in Australia. The mission of JET Charge is really quite simple: to facilitate the easy charging of electric vehicles (cars, buses,motorcycles, scooters, bikes etc) no matter what the situation.
Tim also serves as the Chairperson of the Electric Vehicle Council, a role he has help since April 2017. In this role Tim advises all levels of governments and corporates on behalf of the Electric Vehicle Council, while also regularly speaking at events and conference.
