New Zealand Professional Development Forums
The Australasian Fleet Management Association organises a Professional Development Forum program for New Zealand throughout 2018. This is an ideal way of staying in touch and with fellow fleet managers, connecting with potential clients, entertaining and reaffirming existing clients or taking the first step in discovering what it is like to be an AfMA Member.
Who Should Attend
Fleet managers, fleet coordinators, fleet administrators and any individual working to manage an organisations vehicles. You should also bring your upper management team, so they’ll be aware of the issues you face and need to plan for in the future.
Topic 1 – Creating safer fleets: going beyond compliance
Presented by – Caroline Perry
Organisations have a responsibility for the health and safety of their at-work drivers and other road users under workplace health & safety law, but creating a culture of road safety means going beyond minimum compliance. For an organisation to successfully improve the safety of its fleet, it needs to put safety at the heart of its OH&S policies and Corporate Social Responsibility programme.
This engaging presentation will explore measures that organisations can put in place to address their road risk, resulting in safety and financial benefits, whilst also achieving buy-in from staff and resulting in wider benefits for your community.
Brake is a national road safety charity that works to prevent road deaths and injuries and support families who have been bereaved and injured in crashes. Our activities include sharing best practice in fleet safety through our Brake Professional scheme (www.brakepro.org), coordinating national Road Safety Week, offering road safety information and resources to educators and community groups, and providing free support resources to families affected by crashes. For more information on our work visit www.brake.org.nz.
